Lampara was founded by Roland Dela Paz, a cybersecurity professional who has worked in the security industry for the last 19 years. Roland has worked for companies such as Microsoft, DocuSign, and Circle (USDC), and has spent the last few years building and running in-house Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) programs.
During this time, Roland noticed a recurring challenge: building an internal CTI program can require hundreds of thousands of dollars in investment, including commercial intelligence subscriptions, a Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP), and dedicated threat intelligence analysts. It also takes time for an internal CTI program to mature before a security organization can fully benefit from it.
These challenges can put a CTI program beyond the reach of growing or lean security teams, even though threat intelligence can be particularly valuable to them. For instance, a resource-constrained security team can use threat intelligence to make informed decisions about which security initiatives to invest in and prioritize, based on its threat landscape.
Without this context, security teams may invest time and resources in initiatives that are not aligned with their organization’s threat landscape. When relevant threats emerge, teams may need to revisit or repeat earlier work to address them, adding to their already demanding workload and contributing to burnout.
Roland founded Lampara—which means “lamp”—to make cyber threat intelligence accessible to smaller security teams. His hope is that, through contextualized intelligence, Lampara can serve as a guiding light, helping teams focus their efforts on the threats that matter while easing the burden on security professionals at risk of or experiencing burnout.
Lampara's Threat Conscious Platform carries that purpose forward: a focused workspace that connects your organisation’s priorities with relevant intelligence, helping your team see its threat landscape more clearly.
